Its origins date back to the last decades of the 1990s. Promociones Farrais e Hijos S.L. was founded by Don Juan Farrais. It has countless developments located mainly in the tourist city of Puerto de la Cruz. Among them are two projects currently aimed at the tourism sector: Apartamentos Ambassador Parque Farrais and Hotel Riu Garoé.
Opened in 2002, the Hotel Riu Garoe is a milestone for Promociones Farrais e Hijos. Don Juan Farrais Rodríguez was born in 1936, in the heart of a humble family in the Realejero neighborhood of La Cruz Santa. His childhood was like that of so many other children of the post-war period, marked by acute food shortages, poverty and hunger. Undoubtedly, these events would forge a character marked by a great tenacity, a high capacity to face risks as well as an unequalled fighting capacity.
He attended public elementary school until the age of fourteen.
As the youngest of three siblings, he soon stood out for his entrepreneurial spirit.
In his twenties he began his career as a contractor and later as a builder and developer with a company dedicated to the construction of real estate mainly in the Orotava Valley.
His are many buildings of great quality that are found today in the city of Puerto de la Cruz. See as examples, the Nivaria Building on Enrique Talg Street, the Manuela building, on El Tope Street, the San Antonio I and San Antonio II buildings, on San Antonio Street, the Playa Jardín building, very close to this same beach, etc.
In 1985 he decided to combine his work as a builder and developer with tourism. It does so with a tourist apartment complex, Apartamentos Ambassador, an apartment complex that has always enjoyed a great reputation in its category.
But undoubtedly his most significant and important work has been the construction and subsequent start-up of the prestigious Riu Garoé hotel. A work in which he has been personally involved from the very beginning.
